Katherine M. Ives is an associate attorney at Serling Rooks Hunter McKoy Worob & Averill LLP. She represents clients in the music and entertainment industries, where she advises on recording industry transactions, music publishing transactions and producer, mixer and guest artist agreements.
Prior to joining the firm, Katie was an associate at a nationally-recognized entertainment law firm in Nashville, Tennessee, where she advocated for various players in the entertainment industry, including artists, songwriters and music companies. Katie has experience in handling cutting edge music industry issues impacting copyright termination, copyright infringement and works made for hire.
Katie graduated magna cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University’s Recording Industry program with a dual concentration in Music Business and Commercial Songwriting. She earned her law degree at Emory University School of Law where she focused her studies on intellectual property and participated in the Transactional Law Certificate program. She is a member of the New York and Tennessee state bars and is admitted to practice in the Southern District of New York.
